Same-Day Dental Crowns

Modern technology should make dental care easier to understand and plan. We will explain what your tooth needs, listen to questions about comfort and scheduling, and discuss whether a same-day approach fits. A crown covers and supports a tooth when damage or an existing restoration leaves it needing more protection than a filling. Strive Dental Studio uses CEREC technology to design and mill suitable crowns in the office. Some teeth can be restored in one appointment, while other situations require a different material, laboratory work or additional treatment. Your dentist examines the tooth and bite before explaining which approach fits your needs.

CEREC uses a digital scan and in-office design and milling to fabricate a crown for a prepared tooth. When the tooth, material and clinical situation are suitable, the crown can be fitted during the same visit. The dentist will explain any reason a different approach is recommended.

Timing depends on preparation, the condition of the tooth, design, milling and fitting. The office can give you an estimate after the treatment plan is confirmed. Some cases require another visit or additional treatment, so an exact duration or same-visit completion cannot be promised for every tooth.

A properly selected and fitted CEREC crown can be a durable restoration. Material choice, the remaining tooth, fit, bite forces and home care all affect performance. No crown is immune to fracture, loosening or decay around the natural tooth, and regular examinations remain important.

From scan to fit

The dentist evaluates how much healthy tooth remains and whether any nerve or gum treatment is needed. After preparation, a digital scan supports the crown design. The restoration is fabricated, checked and adjusted for its contacts and bite before final placement. The process images on this page show equipment and stages used at the practice.

After your crown appointment

Follow the eating and cleaning instructions provided and contact us if the bite feels high or sensitivity persists. Brush and clean around the crown because the underlying tooth and gumline still need protection. Discuss a nightguard if grinding is contributing to damage. Ask for an estimate and coverage review before treatment; the recommended restoration depends on clinical need, not insurance alone.
